Soy-Ginger Marinated Steaks

Ummmm,,, is the sound that will happen with each bite of the steak you grill with this marinade.   It works well with any cut.  Try it with a flank steak, a sirloin, or a London broil – as I did tonight.   You can make earlier in the day and marinate for a few hours or even overnight.   Then grill on a pre-heated BBQ grill.   This is how….


Ingredients:

¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
¼ cup olive oil
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
½ Tablespoon ground ginger.

Whisk all ingredients together until well incorporated.


For tougher meats, using a meat mallet, pound to tenderize. 

Next, place meat in a gallon size zip lock bag.  Then, pour the marinade over the meat and zip the top closed.
Next, massage the meat from the outside of the bag, then turn the bag and repeat with the other size.

Place the marinating meat in the refrigerator and turn it once or twice an hour.

When ready, pre-heat BBQ grill.   Then, place the steaks on the grill and cook on med-high to get a good char.  Then turn steak and repeat the process.  When both sides have a char, reduce heat to low and cook until you have achieved the degree of doneness you desire.

let the steaks sit for 5 to 10 minutes before serving or cutting them. This gives the juices a chance to re-distribute throughout the steak, keeping the meat moister and more flavorful.
